Hello friends,
I decided to translate some of our articles in favor of our English reading friends. we have several contractors at this site - memukad.co.il - who came back from different places around the world and it will be easier for them to read it in english.
Another thing that took us by surprise is the fact that some of our contractors got telephone calls from abroad, imagine that ! :)
So, how do i get certified as a remodeling contractor at sub branch 131 ?
This involves two steps: apply then prove.
Well, you first need to understand the structure of things. in the list of possibilities to become a registered contractor you have "main branches" and "sub branches". so 131 remodeling is a sub branch of 100 construction, where the "A" symbol is another division to financial scopes which we'll discuss later on.
There are several conditions and obligations you as a contractor need to meet before even trying to register, for example you were not under bankruptcy conditions in the past years, you can't have a criminal record, of course you have to be a business with all the legal stuff from you accountant, proving you have worked as a contractor ( you must have the invoices to prove the financial scope).
If all the paper work and documents turn out to be ok and you do meet the requirements, the registrar of contractors will summon you to prove you theoretical knowledge, meaning you have to pass 10 "American" tests (multiple choices). some of the tests include calculating quantities, calculation and bids, safety at a work site and others. they are not simple to pass.
After you pass these 10 tests you get certified as a registered contractor in remodeling 131 (financial scope A).
Do not forget to pay and stamp it otherwise it's for nothing.
